Nineteen of the Russian's 21 titles have been earned on hard courts
A revitalized the Russian player secured his initial championship for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult season, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the American major.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in especial - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-time coach Cervara.
Currently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's first trophy following the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt after March of the previous year.
The win also indicates the Russian has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one different tournaments.
"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his past six championship matches, including in Halle in the past months.
His retrieving play style and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had caused some to doubt if his capacity to perform at the elite level was over.
Yet the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete aggressively, supported by an enhanced service.
He came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, taking 4 of the concluding five games to go ahead.
Both players swapped break points in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his first ATP Tour championship, took control to force a third set.
The opponent defended four early-game opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the champion won the break to fifteen to secure the win.
Fittingly, Medvedev earned the win with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
